Part 1 : Concepts of healthy eating, food portions, macronutrients and self-evaluation of diet.

Understand what are Macronutrients (Carbohydrates, Proteins and Lipids).

Learn the types, functions, food sources, health effects, symptoms of deficiencies of Macronutrients.

Workshop 1: Introduction to self-evaluation of diet. Putting learning into practice with fun activities to examine ingredients on the food label, and practise the healthy eating concepts, for instance, finding hidden sugars, get to know healthier options for sugar substitutions.
Part 2 : Concepts of healthy eating, micronutrients, water and impact of environmental pollution on health.

Workshop 2: Putting knowledge into practice : design a one-day protein-rich menu for a vegan. Examine food labels for hidden trans fats. How to choose cooking oils.

Workshop 4: Learn about the sprouting process, the nutritional benefits of sprouted seeds, beans, and grains, the handling practices and how to incorporate sprouts in everyday meals. Simple recipes and meal ideas.

Workshop 5 and Workshop 6: Apply your theoretical knowledge in two intensive hands-on workshops. You will work in collaborative groups to discuss, design, and present nutritionally balanced menus tailored to specific populations to improve their health outcomes.
