VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Certificate in Diet & Nutrition for Complementary Therapists
UK-accredited, internationally recognized qualification
Course Overview
The VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Certificate in Diet and Nutrition for Complementary Therapists provides a comprehensive foundation in evidence-based nutrition and its application to holistic health, preventive health, and long-term wellbeing. The course covers the essential principles of nutrition, including macronutrients, micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), hydration, functional foods, sprouting, meal planning, lifestyle factors, and the influence of environmental factors on health.
Grounded in nutritional science and real-world application, the programme explores how the body digests, absorbs, and utilises nutrients to support optimal physiological function. Learners gain an understanding of how modern dietary patterns influence metabolic health, gut health, healthy ageing, and overall wellbeing, while examining the effects of food processing and lifestyle habits on health outcomes. The programme also introduces evidence-based nutritional approaches for supporting common health conditions and promoting whole-person wellness.
Through a combination of engaging theory lessons and practical hands-on workshops, the course develops the knowledge and skills required to assess dietary intake, interpret food diaries, identify nutritional imbalances, and develop personalised nutrition and meal plans for individuals across different life stages, lifestyles, and dietary needs.
Emphasising real food, sustainable lifestyle practices, and practical home cooking, the programme equips learners with the competence and confidence to apply nutritional principles in both personal and professional settings.
Graduates are well prepared to support positive, lasting lifestyle change, whether enhancing their own health, guiding family members towards healthier living, or pursuing opportunities within the fields of nutrition, health coaching, complementary therapy, or holistic wellness.
